F Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) authored several significant works capturing the Jazz Age's essence. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he published his first novel, "This Side of Paradise," in 1920, which gained immediate acclaim. His most famous work, "The Great Gatsby" (1925), is widely considered a masterpiece of American literature, depicting the opulence and moral decay of the Roaring Twenties. Fitzgerald also wrote "Tender Is the Night" (1934), exploring the dynamics of expatriate life in Europe. His turbulent marriage to Zelda Sayre and struggles with alcoholism marked his personal life. Fitzgerald died of a heart attack at age 44, leaving behind an unfinished novel, "The Last Tycoon."
