Ian Mcewan

Ian McEwan, born June 21, 1948, in Aldershot, England, is an acclaimed British novelist and screenwriter. He gained prominence with his first collection of short stories, "First Love, Last Rites" (1975), which won the Somerset Maugham Award. McEwan's novel "Atonement" (2001) brought him widespread recognition, receiving the Booker Prize nomination and later being adapted into an Oscar-winning film. In 1998, he won the Booker Prize for "Amsterdam." Distinguished for his intricate narratives and exploration of moral dilemmas, McEwan frequently delves into themes of personal and societal conflict.
