Mwai Kibaki

Mwai Kibaki (1931–2022) served as the third President of Kenya from 2002 to 2013. He played a pivotal role in the revival of Kenya's economy and is often credited with implementing key economic reforms that spurred growth. Kibaki's tenure saw significant infrastructure development, including the Thika Superhighway, which transformed Nairobi's transportation network. In 2003, he introduced free primary education, which drastically increased school enrollment rates. Additionally, Kibaki's government oversaw the creation of a new constitution in 2010, which decentralized power and aimed to reduce corruption. His leadership marked a period of economic stability and institutional reform in Kenya.
