Amy Bloom

Amy Bloom, born on June 18, 1953, is an acclaimed American author and psychotherapist. She is best known for her novels "Away" (2007) and "White Houses" (2018), both of which received critical acclaim for their rich storytelling and complex characters. "Away" was listed as one of the best books of the year by several major publications, including the New York Times. Bloom's short story collections, such as "Come to Me" (1993), which was nominated for the National Book Award, have also garnered praise. Additionally, she has contributed articles to prominent magazines like The New Yorker and The Atlantic. Bloom served as the Shapiro-Silverberg Professor of Creative Writing at Wesleyan University. She currently resides in Connecticut.
