Barbara Bush

Barbara Bush (June 8, 1925 – April 17, 2018) served as the First Lady of the United States from 1989 to 1993 during the presidency of her husband, George H. W. Bush. She is best known for her work in family literacy, founding the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy in 1989. Barbara Bush also authored several books, including her memoir "Barbara Bush: A Memoir" (1994) and the children's book "Millie's Book," which reached the top of the New York Times Best Seller list. Her efforts in promoting education and literacy remain a significant part of her public service legacy.
