Daniel Day Lewis

Daniel Day-Lewis, born April 29, 1957, is an English actor celebrated for his intense method acting and selective filmography. He is the only actor to have won three Academy Awards for Best Actor, securing these accolades for his roles in "My Left Foot" (1989), "There Will Be Blood" (2007), and "Lincoln" (2012). In "My Left Foot," Day-Lewis portrayed Christy Brown, a writer and painter with cerebral palsy, a performance that earned him widespread acclaim. His role as oilman Daniel Plainview in "There Will Be Blood" showcased his ability to embody complex characters, while his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s "Lincoln" demonstrated his skill in historical drama. Day-Lewis retired from acting in 2017.
