Diane Sawyer

Diane Sawyer, born December 22, 1945, is a prominent American television broadcast journalist. She gained widespread recognition as the anchor of ABC World News from 2009 to 2014. Sawyer began her career as a weather forecaster before joining CBS News in 1978, where she co-anchored the CBS Morning News. One of her notable achievements includes her work on 60 Minutes, where she conducted in-depth investigative reports. In 1989, Sawyer joined ABC News, co-anchoring Primetime Live and later 20/20. Her interview with Charles Manson in 1994 and her coverage of the 9/11 attacks are renowned for their depth and insight. In 2007, she was awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for her work on poverty in America.
