Biography
Eric Idle, born on March 29, 1943, in South Shields, England, is a distinguished comedian, actor, and writer. He is best known as a founding member of the groundbreaking comedy group Monty Python. Idle's contributions to the iconic television series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1969-1974) and the subsequent films "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (1975) and "Life of Brian" (1979) cemented his status in comedic history. He wrote and performed the song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," which became an enduring anthem. Idle also created the Tony Award-winning musical "Spamalot" (2005), which is based on "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."
