Ethan Hawke, born on November 6, 1970, in Austin, Texas, is an American actor, director, and writer. He gained widespread acclaim for his role in the 1989 film "Dead Poets Society." In 1995, he starred in Richard Linklater's "Before Sunrise," a role he reprised in the sequels "Before Sunset" (2004) and "Before Midnight" (2013), earning critical praise for his performances. Hawke also received Academy Award nominations for his acting in "Training Day" (2001) and for his writing contributions to "Before Sunset" and "Before Midnight."
