Ezra Pound

Ezra Pound (1885-1972) was an influential American expatriate poet and critic, best known for his role in developing the modernist movement in early 20th-century literature. He is celebrated for his seminal work "The Cantos," an incomplete long poem that spans over 800 pages and reflects his broad cultural and historical interests. In 1913, Pound published "Ripostes," a collection of poems that showcased his innovative use of language and form. During his time in London, he was instrumental in advancing the careers of other writers, including T.S. Eliot and James Joyce. Pound's commitment to literary experimentation and his controversial political views defined much of his career.
