Richard Feynman

Richard Feynman (1918-1988) was an American theoretical physicist known for his groundbreaking work in quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics. In 1965, he received the Nobel Prize in Physics alongside Julian Schwinger and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga. His development of Feynman diagrams revolutionized the way physicists visualize and calculate interactions between particles. During World War II, Feynman worked on the Manhattan Project, contributing to the development of the atomic bomb. Later, his influential lectures at Caltech were compiled into the "Feynman Lectures on Physics," which remain essential reading for students. Notably, Feynman also played a key role in the investigation of the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster, famously demonstrating the O-ring failure with a simple ice water experiment.
