Bob Marley

Bob Marley, born on February 6, 1945, in Nine Mile, Jamaica, was a pivotal figure in the development of reggae music. As the lead singer of Bob Marley and the Wailers, he brought reggae to international prominence. Their album "Exodus," released in 1977, stayed on the British album charts for 56 consecutive weeks, featuring hits like "Jamming" and "One Love." In 1978, Marley received the Peace Medal of the Third World from the United Nations for his efforts in promoting peace and justice. His song "Redemption Song," from the 1980 album "Uprising," remains a powerful anthem of freedom and resistance. Marley passed away on May 11, 1981, leaving behind a rich musical legacy.
