Franklin D Roosevelt

Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) served as the 32nd President of the United States from 1933 to 1945. He is most known for leading the country during the Great Depression and World War II. Roosevelt implemented the New Deal, a series of programs and reforms designed to revive the economy and provide relief to the unemployed. In 1935, he signed the Social Security Act, establishing a safety net for the elderly and unemployed. During World War II, he played a critical role in the Allied strategy against the Axis powers. Roosevelt's leadership during these pivotal moments in American history marked his presidency as one of the most significant in the nation's history. He was the only U.S. president elected to four terms.
