Marissa Mayer

Marissa Mayer, born May 30, 1975, in Wausau, Wisconsin, is recognized for her pivotal role at Google and as the CEO of Yahoo!. Mayer joined Google in 1999 as employee number 20 and significantly contributed to the development of the company’s search engine and Gmail. In July 2012, she became the president and CEO of Yahoo!, where she aimed to revitalize the struggling tech giant. During her tenure at Yahoo!, Mayer oversaw the company's acquisition of Tumblr for $1.1 billion in 2013, although the platform did not achieve the hoped-for success. Mayer left Yahoo! in 2017 following its acquisition by Verizon. She later co-founded Lumi Labs, focusing on consumer media and artificial intelligence.
