Pele

Pele, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento on October 23, 1940, in Três Corações, Brazil, is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time. He is best known for his time at Santos FC and his contributions to the Brazil national team. Pele won three FIFA World Cups with Brazil in 1958, 1962, and 1970, a feat unmatched by any other player. During his career, he scored over 1,000 goals in official matches, including 77 goals for the national team. Pele was named FIFA Player of the Century in 1999, sharing the honor with Diego Maradona. He also played a significant role in popularizing football in the United States during his tenure with the New York Cosmos.
