Phil Jackson, born September 17, 1945, is an American former professional basketball player, coach, and executive. He is best known for his extraordinary coaching career in the NBA, leading the Chicago Bulls to six championships (1991-1993, 1996-1998) and the Los Angeles Lakers to five titles (2000-2002, 2009-2010). Jackson's coaching philosophy, which incorporated elements of Zen Buddhism, earned him the nickname "Zen Master." His unique approach to team management and strategy was evident in his ability to maximize the talents of superstars like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. In addition to 11 NBA championships as a coach, Jackson won two titles as a player with the New York Knicks in 1970 and 1973, making him one of the most decorated figures in basketball history.
