Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison (1847–1931) was an American inventor and businessman who profoundly impacted modern life with his numerous inventions. Born in Milan, Ohio, Edison is best known for inventing the phonograph in 1877, the practical electric light bulb in 1879, and the motion picture camera in 1891. His establishment of the first industrial research laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey, in 1876, set a new standard for innovation. Edison's work led to the founding of General Electric, one of the largest and most diversified industrial corporations.
