"将反对派视为危险是对民主基本概念的误解"
— Aung San Suu Kyi
Simplified Meaning:
Democracy is a system where people have different opinions and can freely share them. It's normal and healthy for people to disagree because it means everyone can speak up and share their thoughts. If we start to think that people who have different ideas are a threat, we miss the point of what democracy is all about. Imagine a classroom where students can suggest different activities for a field trip. Some might want to go to a zoo, while others prefer a museum. If the teacher thinks one group is dangerous just because they prefer the zoo over the museum, the class can't have an open discussion to decide what's best for everyone. In the same way, in a democracy, it's important to listen to and understand different opinions to make good decisions together. By doing this, we create an environment where everyone feels safe to share their thoughts.
