Corrie Ten Boom

Cornelia "Corrie" Ten Boom (1892-1983) was a Dutch Christian watchmaker who, along with her family, helped many Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II. She is best known for her memoir, "The Hiding Place" (1971), which recounts her experiences and the harrowing details of her imprisonment in Ravensbrück concentration camp. In 1944, the Gestapo arrested Ten Boom and her family for their activities in the Dutch resistance. Despite the dangers, she persisted in her efforts until her release later that year. After the war, she traveled widely, speaking about her faith and experiences. In 1967, Yad Vashem honored her as one of the Righteous Among the Nations.
