Hannah Arendt

Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) was a German-born American political theorist renowned for her works on totalitarianism and the nature of power. Her seminal book, "The Origins of Totalitarianism" (1951), offered a groundbreaking analysis of the rise of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century. In 1963, Arendt published "Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil," which examined the trial of Adolf Eichmann and introduced the controversial concept of the "banality of evil." She served as a professor at several prestigious institutions, including the University of Chicago and The New School. Arendt's contributions to political thought continue to be influential, particularly her exploration of authority, democracy, and the human condition.
