Harper Lee

Harper Lee, born Nelle Harper Lee on April 28, 1926, in Monroeville, Alabama, achieved literary fame with her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1960). This seminal work, set in the Depression-era South, addresses themes of racial injustice and moral growth. Lee's other significant contribution to literature is "Go Set a Watchman," published in 2015, which offers an alternate perspective on the characters from her acclaimed first novel. Despite her limited bibliography, Lee's influence in American literature remains substantial. She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2007, recognizing her contribution to literature.
