Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton, born October 26, 1947, served as the 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013 under President Barack Obama. She was the Democratic Party's nominee for President in 2016, becoming the first woman to be nominated by a major U.S. political party. Clinton previously represented New York in the U.S. Senate from 2001 to 2009. Her tenure as First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001 saw her advocating for healthcare reform and championing children's issues. In 1995, she made a landmark speech at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, declaring that "women's rights are human rights." She is also the author of several books, including her memoir "Living History" (2003).
