Jack Dempsey

Jack Dempsey, born June 24, 1895, in Manassa, Colorado, was an American professional boxer who became a cultural icon during the 1920s. He held the World Heavyweight Championship from 1919 to 1926, a period marked by his aggressive fighting style and exceptional punching power. One of his most notable achievements occurred on July 4, 1919, when he defeated Jess Willard to win the heavyweight title, a fight that showcased his relentless attack and powerful blows. Another significant bout was his 1921 fight against Georges Carpentier, which was boxing's first million-dollar gate.
