Ralph Nader

Ralph Nader, born February 27, 1934, is an American political activist, author, and attorney. He gained national attention with his 1965 book "Unsafe at Any Speed," which criticized the auto industry for its resistance to safety features, leading to significant reforms in car safety regulations. In 1971, he founded Public Citizen, an organization dedicated to consumer rights and public accountability. Nader also played a pivotal role in the passage of the Clean Water Act and the Freedom of Information Act. He ran for President of the United States multiple times, notably in 2000, where he garnered enough votes to impact the election outcome.
