Sylvia Plath

Sylvia Plath (October 27, 1932 – February 11, 1963) was an American poet and novelist, best known for her confessional poetry and her novel "The Bell Jar." Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Plath excelled academically, attending Smith College and later Cambridge University on a Fulbright Scholarship. Her poetry collections, "The Colossus" and the posthumously published "Ariel," showcase her intense, personal style. Plath's 1962 poems, such as "Daddy" and "Lady Lazarus," are particularly notable for their vivid imagery and emotional depth. Her struggle with mental illness profoundly influenced her work, culminating in her tragic suicide in 1963.
