Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter whose works include some of the most famous and influential pieces in Western art. His notable works include "Starry Night" (1889), a swirling, nocturnal landscape painted during his stay at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum, and "Sunflowers" (1888), a vibrant series capturing the beauty of the flower in Arles, France. Van Gogh's "The Bedroom" (1888), depicting his personal room in the Yellow House, reflects his unique use of color and perspective. Despite struggling with mental health issues and poverty, he produced over 2,100 artworks, including about 860 oil paintings. Van Gogh tragically died at 37 from a gunshot wound, with his work gaining acclaim posthumously.
