E B White

E. B. White (1899-1985) was an American writer, best known for his children's books "Charlotte's Web" (1952) and "Stuart Little" (1945). He joined the staff of The New Yorker in 1927, where he contributed essays and poems for nearly six decades. White co-authored "The Elements of Style" with William Strunk Jr., which became a seminal guide on English composition. In 1970, he received the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal for his substantial contributions to children's literature. White's work, characterized by its clarity and gentle humor, remains an essential part of American literary heritage.
