Henry James

Henry James (1843-1916) was an influential American-British author known for his contributions to 19th-century literature. His novel "The Portrait of a Lady" (1881) is celebrated for its intricate characterizations and exploration of the clash between American and European cultures. In 1898, he published "The Turn of the Screw," a novella that continues to be a cornerstone of the ghost story genre.
