Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986) was an Indian philosopher, speaker, and writer, widely recognized for his discourses on psychological revolution, meditation, and the nature of the mind. Born in Madanapalle, India, he became the adopted son of Annie Besant, the then-president of the Theosophical Society. In the early 1920s, he was groomed to be the new World Teacher by the Society, but in 1929, he famously dissolved the Order of the Star, declaring that truth is a pathless land. His notable works include "The First and Last Freedom" (1954) and "Commentaries on Living" (1956-1960). Krishnamurti's dialogues with physicist David Bohm, particularly in "The Ending of Time" (1985), are considered significant contributions to both fields. He continued to lecture worldwide until his death in 1986 in Ojai, California. less
