Biography
Joseph R. Biden Jr., born November 20, 1942, is the 46th President of the United States, having assumed office on January 20, 2021. Previously, he served as the 47th Vice President from 2009 to 2017, under President Barack Obama. During his tenure as Vice President, Biden played a pivotal role in the Affordable Care Act's passage and managed the implementation of the Recovery Act, a significant economic stimulus package. Before his vice presidency, Biden represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. As a Senator, he chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee and was instrumental in passing the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994.
