John Stott

John Stott (April 27, 1921 – July 27, 2011) was a prominent English Anglican cleric and theologian. He played a pivotal role in the Evangelical movement during the 20th century. Stott was instrumental in drafting the Lausanne Covenant in 1974, a significant document that outlined the mission of the church and evangelism worldwide. His influential book, "Basic Christianity" (1958), has sold millions of copies and has been translated into over 60 languages. He served as the Rector of All Souls Church, Langham Place, from 1950 to 1975. In 2005, Time magazine included him in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
