We searched Einstein's own writings, correspondence, recorded interviews, and archival records, and found no primary source containing this exact sentence. The standard scholarly reference, Alice Calaprice's The Ultimate Quotable Einstein, catalogs this line among sayings merely attributed to Einstein, without a primary citation — a meaningful caution given that this work is the authoritative arbiter for confirming or debunking Einstein quotations. What Einstein genuinely said, and what can be sourced, is the related but different line "Imagination is more important than knowledge," from his 1929 Saturday Evening Post interview with George Sylvester Viereck; the "A to B / everywhere" wording reads as a later, snappier reworking of that documented theme. Our book-database review turned up the phrase only in recent novelty journals and notebooks (all 2019, all crediting Einstein without sourcing) and in Wayne Dyer's Wishes Fulfilled (2013), which quotes it as Einstein's rather than claiming it — none of these establishes an earlier origin or a competing author. We considered whether this should be treated as misattributed, but found no citable alternative source, no named prior author, and no documented instance predating Einstein — vague speculation about Kant or reason-versus-imagination themes does not meet that bar. With ubiquitous credit to Einstein but no primary-source confirmation and no genuine competing claim, the honest classification is attributed.
