Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch (b. July 19, 1976) is an acclaimed British actor, best known for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series "Sherlock" (2010-2017). He gained international recognition for his role as Alan Turing in the film "The Imitation Game" (2014), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. His versatile performances extend to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he stars as Doctor Strange, first appearing in 2016. Cumberbatch's stage work includes a celebrated performance in "Hamlet" at the Barbican Theatre in 2015. In 2015, he was appointed a CBE for his services to performing arts and charity.
