Daniel Dennett

Daniel C. Dennett is an American philosopher, writer, and cognitive scientist born on March 28, 1942. He is best known for his work on the philosophy of mind and cognitive science. His influential book, "Consciousness Explained" (1991), challenges traditional notions of consciousness and proposes a new framework for understanding the phenomenon. In 2003, he published "Freedom Evolves," which explores the concept of free will through the lens of evolutionary biology. Dennett co-directs the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University, where he has been a key figure since 1971. His interdisciplinary approach combines philosophy with empirical science, distinguishing his work in the fields of artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology.
