Plutarch

Plutarch (c. AD 46 – c. AD 119) was a Greek biographer and essayist, celebrated for his work "Parallel Lives," a series of biographies of famous Greeks and Romans presented in tandem to highlight their common moral virtues and vices. Born in Chaeronea in Boeotia, he traveled extensively, including to Rome, where he lectured on philosophy. One of his notable accomplishments includes the biographical collection "Moralia," a diverse series of essays and dialogues on ethical, religious, physical, political, and literary topics. Plutarch's writing style combined detailed historical research with moral philosophy, making his works both informative and thought-provoking. He became a Roman citizen and held the title of procurator in Greece.
