He is best known for co-creating the acclaimed television series "Game of Thrones" (2011–2019) with D.B. Weiss, based on George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels. Benioff's career in screenwriting began with the adaptation of his own novel, "The 25th Hour," into the 2002 film directed by Spike Lee. He also wrote the screenplay for the 2004 epic film "Troy." In addition to his screenwriting achievements, Benioff co-wrote and produced the Netflix series "The Three-Body Problem," an adaptation of Liu Cixin's sci-fi trilogy, set to release in 2024. less
