Hafez

Hafez, born Khwāja Shams-ud-Dīn Muḥammad Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī in 1325/1326, was a Persian poet whose collected works are regarded as a pinnacle of Persian literature. He is best known for his "Divan of Hafez," a collection of ghazals (lyric poems) that explore themes of love, mysticism, and human experience. Writing during the 14th century, Hafez's poetry remains celebrated for its intricate wordplay and deep philosophical insights. His ghazals have been a staple in Persian culture, often memorized and recited by heart. Hafez died in 1390, and his tomb in Shiraz is a revered site, attracting numerous visitors and poetry enthusiasts.
