Born on May 6, 1856, in Freiberg, Moravia (now Příbor, Czech Republic), Freud introduced the concept of the unconscious mind and its influence on human behavior. His seminal work, "The Interpretation of Dreams" (1899), proposed that dreams are a form of wish fulfillment and a window into the unconscious mind. In 1900, he published "The Psychopathology of Everyday Life," exploring the significance of slips of the tongue and other seemingly trivial errors. Freud's development of the Oedipus complex theory and his pioneering use of free association in therapy further distinguished his contributions to psychology. He died in London on September 23, 1939. less
