Vladimir Lenin

Vladimir Lenin, born on April 22, 1870, in Simbirsk, Russia, was a pivotal figure in the Russian Revolution of 1917. As the leader of the Bolshevik Party, he orchestrated the October Revolution, which led to the overthrow of the Provisional Government and the establishment of a socialist state. On November 8, 1917, Lenin became the head of the new Soviet government. His key works include "The State and Revolution" (1917), where he outlined his vision for a proletarian state, and "What Is to Be Done?" (1902), which laid the ideological foundation for Bolshevik strategy. Lenin's New Economic Policy, introduced in 1921, temporarily reintroduced limited capitalism to stabilize the post-revolutionary economy. He died on January 21, 1924, in Gorki, Russia.
