"在资本主义社会中的自由总是与古希腊共和国中的自由差不多:奴隶主的自由。"
Simplified meaning
In a society where businesses and money control much of life, real freedom often only belongs to the wealthy and powerful, similar to ancient Greece where only the rich had true freedom while many others were slaves without rights. For example, in modern times, a rich business owner can afford to do almost anything they want and have many privileges, like good education and healthcare. Meanwhile, ordinary workers might struggle to make ends meet and have fewer opportunities. So, even though we talk about freedom a lot, those who don't have money and power aren't truly free because they are limited by their circumstances. To make society fairer, we need to acknowledge this inequality and work towards giving everyone more equal chances, regardless of their wealth.
