A. A. Milne, born January 18, 1882, in London, England, is best known for creating the beloved children's character Winnie-the-Pooh. His seminal work, "Winnie-the-Pooh" (1926), and its sequel, "The House at Pooh Corner" (1928), have become classics in children's literature. Milne's writing career began with contributions to Punch magazine, where his wit and humor flourished. He also wrote several plays, including the successful "Mr. Pim Passes By" (1921). His military service in World War I deeply influenced his later work, leading to his poignant anti-war book, "Peace with Honour" (1934). Milne passed away on January 31, 1956, leaving behind an indelible mark on literary history with his charming tales of the Hundred Acre Wood.
