Mae West (August 17, 1893 – November 22, 1980) gained fame as an American actress, singer, playwright, and screenwriter. She became a major star in vaudeville and on Broadway in the 1920s, where she wrote and starred in plays such as "Sex" and "Diamond Lil." Transitioning to film, West made a significant impact with her 1933 movie "She Done Him Wrong," which featured her famous line, "Why don't you come up sometime and see me?" She also captivated audiences in "I'm No Angel" (1933), solidifying her status as a provocative and witty performer. In 1975, she made a notable return to the screen in "Myra Breckinridge," showcasing her enduring appeal.
