“The phrase "working mother" is redundant.”
— Marilyn vos Savant
Simplified Meaning:
All mothers work, no matter if they have a paid job or not. They take care of kids, manage the house, cook meals, clean, and do many other things every day. Think about a mother who stays at home; she is busy from morning until night, making sure everyone is fed, dressed, and happy. Now, add a part-time or full-time job on top of that, and you can see that calling her a "working mother" might feel like an unnecessary label because all mothers work hard. When people understand this, they can appreciate the efforts of both stay-at-home moms and those who have jobs outside the home. By seeing that all mothers are indeed working, we can give them the credit and respect they deserve.
