Aldous Huxley

Aldous Huxley (1894–1963) was a British writer and philosopher, best known for his dystopian novel "Brave New World" (1932). He was born on July 26, 1894, in Godalming, Surrey, England. Huxley's work often explored the interplay between science, technology, and society. In "The Doors of Perception" (1954), he detailed his experiences with the psychedelic drug mescaline, contributing to the study of human consciousness. Another notable work, "Island" (1962), served as a utopian counterpoint to "Brave New World." Huxley also wrote essays and critiques on various social, political, and philosophical issues. He passed away on November 22, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, the same day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
